A Dream is Becoming a Reality
 
In 1958, the Conventual Franciscan Friars arrived at Our Lady of Guadalupe where they settled at the then new-Friary on Massey Street. This Friary was built to serve as both the offices and to house the four Friars. As OLG grew, the offices were moved out of the Friary leaving the Friary intact as living quarters and office. Today, five Friars live at OLG, and for the past eight years, one Friar has been using what had been a very small former-office as his bedroom.

Just as we renewed our Church for the next fifty years, we now need to renew our Friary so that it also is ready for the next fifty years.  The planning is complete and the remodel has begun.  Renewing our Friary, where six Friars will live, should give OLG a much different future than many of our neighboring parishes.  Our Friary already has one Friar who is Chaplain at Providence Little Company of Mary Hospital and another is an associate at St. Lawrence Martyr.

The projected cost of this remodel is $450,000.  We now have over two-thirds of the money.  Can you help with this project, which will benefit the Catholic Church of the South Bay, Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and the Conventual Franciscans?  You can help us with this project through our web site using ParishPay marking it for our Building Fund or use your credit card via Paypal (use the form below).
