A very special “Thank You” is sent out to everyone for making this years “FIESTA 2010” such a great success.

Every year a group of dedicated, creative and very brave community volunteers gather together to plan, organize and motivate the coming Spring Event. Over the course of several months booths are planned, ride companies solicited, volunteers gathered, Silent Auction gifts are sought, music acts are rehearsed, food vendors found and donations are solicited. People actually began to purchase their lucky 700 Club numbers in January!!!

The amount of hours expended are countless. There are really too many people to thank by name but we did want to mention Mike and Alison Parsons, Megan Weir, Peter Seto, Joe Safranek for their great leadership and vision.

A special Thank You to Mrs. Hunt and all the teachers who donated their classrooms this year and their hours of manning the Ticket Booth, and the many volunteers who worked so hard in all of our game and food booths. Though the Fiesta is our communities biggest fund raiser of the year, its main purpose is to bring our community together in a fun, casual and safe environment. It is through countless volunteered hours of hard work that we can realize how unique and special OLG really is. Thank you to all those who made this weekend possible.

We are still putting together the final figures of our parish Fiesta. Receipts are still coming in and as soon as we have a final report we will let you know. Once again, Thank You to everyone for all the hard work and the volunteer hours you had to give to make this parish event a great community builder and a financial success!

Participating is the OLG 700 club is a win / win event. The 700 Club is a major fund raiser for the Fiesta, which makes a win for the OLG School and Church. Secondly the odds of winning a 700 Club prize are very good. Only 700 tickets are sold and there are 30 prizes awarded throughout the drawing process (7 @ $100, 7 @ $150, 7 @ $200, 6 @ $350, 1 @ $500, 1 @ $4,000, and 1 @ $300). Every ticket is drawn. There is excitement in watching when your ticket will be drawn - a win even if you don’t win one of the many prizes! So, if you can, join in the support and fun by purchasing one (or more) of the 700 club tickets. There are many ways to win. *Good News! The North Redondo Beach Business Association "Springfest Carnival" will be held on April 16th-18th a full 2 weeks prior to our event.

*More Good News! Record crowds are predicted and Fiesta attendance records are expected to be shattered!

Want to get the most out of this year's Fiesta? Why not volunteer! It will certainly give you a different perspective of our annual fair while doing your part to help. There are several opportunities open, from manning to the booths (game or food) to Fiesta security, to the setup of the fiesta itself. And the sooner you sign-up, the more time/day selections you'll have to choose from. Head to our Volunteer Sign-up page, and click on the respective volunteer link to launch the sign-up list.

 

Can you believe it? We’re talking about Fiesta already!!! 2010 is going way too fast!!! It seems like we just celebrated Christmas Nonetheless, it’s time once again to start preparing for Fiesta 2010 as you heard from our “Fiesta Man” 2 weeks ago, or at the Ministry Fair last weekend. There have been many parishioners already putting their heads together and coming up with new ideas to make this Fiesta one of the best!!!

But we really need all of Our Lady of Guadalupe to participate in this fund raiser to make it successful. You do not have to be a parent of the school to volunteer to help.

The dates for the Fiesta are April 30th, May 1 and May 2.

There are many ways to help. If you cannot volunteer physically to work at the Fiesta, perhaps you can help support the Fiesta through a Silent Auction donation. Some ideas are: Help create a travel weekend with credit card or frequent flier miles toward a resort hotel or airline tickets, access to a family cabin, condo or timeshare, sports car rental for the weekend, limo ride and dinner at a five-star restaurant, ski tickets, hotel stays. Or how about autographed sports stuff, wine or liquor baskets, handmade items or services, gas cards, theme park passes, spa gift certificates. The list is endless, and of course no donation is too small and we would appreciate any donation you can make. Please take a moment and see how you can contribute.

If you cannot help with the Silent Auction there is always the 700 Club, which is relatively painless. Simply pick a few of your favorite numbers 1-700, and you could win $4,000.00, and right now, who couldn’t use an extra 4 grand!!!! If you sign up now, you might actually get the number you want. There are applications at the back of this bulletin at the back of the church today or if you need more they are available at the parish office. You can also use the Fiesta Store to put your 700 Club order online. If you would like to volunteer to help at the Fiesta, please call the parish office and we will get you in touch with the correct person. As one community of Our Lady of Guadalupe, lets make Fiesta 2010 a memorable one!!! And remember, the Fiesta benefits the entire parish!!!
