Thinking of other ways to financially support your parish? How about participating in the OLG Scrip Program! SCRIP is "no-selling" fundraising that can help our parish make ends meet. Scrip is a term that means "substitute money". When you purchase scrip, you're purchasing negotiable gift certificates that are used just like cash. The scrip is issued by national and local retailers. These merchants, such as Macy's, Sears, Home Depot, and American Airlines, want to support non-profit organizations, and in return ask you to support them by shopping with scrip at their stores. You can use scrip to purchase everyday expenses like food, clothing and other essentials, and with every purchase, you earn revenue for our parish. Scrip is "shopping cart fundraising". The reason for the effectiveness of scrip is simple: families generate revenue through purchases they would make anyway. Groceries, clothing, toys, gifts, even gasoline can be purchased with scrip. An organization of 150 families easily spends between one and two million dollars per year on food, clothing and other essentials. If these families use scrip for these purchases, they can raise as much as $40,000 to $80,000 per year for their parish --without spending an additional penny. Retailers like Scrip, too. Families who purchase scrip certificates actively support the retailers who participate in this program. The reason is simple... they know that buying from a scrip participating retailer provides a steady source of revenue for their parish. So keep OLG in mind when purchasing products at your favorite retailer. To participate, simply download the order form, print it and fill-it out. Orders can be faxed to the Parish Office or mailed with your check enclosed. Once you receive and spend your gift certificates, know that you have helped raise funds for your parish community! May God bless you for your generosity. You can download the order form here or by going to our Downloads area. If you would like a school family to receive credit for your purchases, please include their envelope number on the order form.
