Penance & Reconciliation

In Our Lady of Guadalupe we have confessions every Saturday from 9:00 - 10:00 AM, or by appointment. If you would like to have confession at any time of the day, please call the parish office and ask to schedule for confession.

The sacrament of penance and reconciliation, or confession, is a sacrament of healing, besides the sacrament of the anointing of the sick. In OLG, when you go for confession, you have two choices: "Traditional", which means that the confession is auricular ("ear to ear") - there is a wall between you and the priest. The second choice is "Face to Face" where you go and meet the priest directly, seeing one another. Please choose whatever makes you comfortable. Keep in mind that the priest is bound under the seal of confession for everything you say. Leave all the burdens you carry in your heart there - don't take them back home! Remember in God's eyes all of us are sinners and all of us need God's compassion, mercy, and endless love.

Scripture of the Moment

But from everlasting to everlasting the LORD's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children - with those who keep his covenant and remember to obey his precepts.

- Psalm 103:17-18
